Niamh Cummins as "Mary Poppins" and classmate Patrick Tierney as "Bert" in their Christmas Concert. We send our hearties t congratulation s to Niamh Cummins (age 8) from Lansdowne who was the overall winner of the Telecom Design a Callcard Competition for 1994. Niamh, who is a second class pupil in the Junior School won from 27,000 entries from children nationwide. Her picture of a clown was chosen for its originality and imaginative use of colour. The presentation of prizes will take place on 13th February, and apart from receiving a mountain bike and helmet for herself, the school will be presented with an AST Advantage Computer. Her teacher, Miss Mullany, wins a weekend away and the whole class will receive a £500 voucher in order to fund an outing for the eight year olds. Niamh heard of her great achievement just before she went on stage as Mary Poppins in the school Christmas Concert. We hope she will have great fun "flying off" on her brand new mountain bike! We understand that 200,000 cards with Niamh's design will be circulated, and we look forward to seeing her work being displayed.
